iMagicLab, a customer relationship management software company, has announced plans to open a virtual car dealership in Second Life. The Automobile Dealer Relations Center will be located on the company’s “AutoLand” island. Within this site, users can visit a multi-brand showroom, customize a vehicle, and chat with up to 50 car dealers about pricing, availability and service issues. “AutoLand” is scheduled to open March 1.

We’re not really sure if a virtual test drive is going to make anyone more likely or less likely to buy a car. At the very least though, this will create some exposure

Formula DRIFT kicks off their 5th Championship season on April 12, 2008 for Round 1: Streets of Long Beach. Tickets for this event and the other rounds are available for purchase online.

The Formula DRIFT Championship presented by Circuit City begins with Round 1: Streets of Long Beach on April 12. Online ticket purchases for this event will guarantee you a reserved seat in the grandstands. Discounted pre-sale tickets are available through Ticketmaster and on the Formula DRIFT website at.

“With pre-sale reserved tickets for Round 1: Streets of Long Beach, you will never lose your seat and can comfortably browse the paddock and vendor village and not miss out on any of the action,” said Jim Liaw, president and co-founder of Formula DRIFT. “Drifting season is upon us and we look forward to another exciting year of Formula DRIFT.”

Well, it’s a bittersweet day here at WebRidesTV, with good news and bad news.  We’re sitting here with an extremely large new user base because of our new SchwagMart!  We have to add more servers to our clusters to keep up with the demand!  Weve enjoyed several user submitted pictures featuring SchwagMart items, and we’ve even published a few of them.  Some pictures submitted were too risque even for us!

The SchwagMart has run for a total of 5 weeks, and has been a huge success!  This success has not been without some much needed tweaking, however.

Many have noticed fluxuations in SchwagMart item prices, and have inquired.  We figure that we should speak out a bit and let everyone know that we look to be here for a very long time, and that means changing the rules occasionally.  Hit the jump for the full story. Read the rest of this entry »

James Bond would be proud of Rinspeed and their concept, the Splash. Sick sports car, to boat and back to car at the push of a button is a feature every secret agent demands. The Splash is Rinspeed’s tenth concept design that was headed by Frank M. Rinderknecht, founder and boss of Rinspeed. The concept was first seen at the Geneva Motor show in 2004 and in 2006 it broke the world record for crossing the English Channel in a hydrofoil car, doing it in 3 hours and 14 minutes.
