New for all you lucky I-Phone users, the Dynolicious Car Performance Meter. While this type of gadget has been done before, it has never been presented in such a slick and convenient package. This new program utilizes the accelerometer feature in the I-Phone (for tilting) to measure g-forces in any direction.
What this translates into for car enthusiasts is a quick way to determine the performance of a car. 0 to 60 time, quarter mile times, and lateral g-forces can be calculated at the touch of a button. After entering critical stats such as car weight and estimated drivetrain loss, even the wheel horsepower can be estimated.
Supposedly all of these calculations can be taken with an accuracy of plus/minus 0.08 seconds for the zero to sixty time, and plus/minus of 0.1 seconds and 1.5 MPH on the quarter mile time.
With the high cost of car benchmark tests such as turns on a dyno, skidpad runs, and GPS speed tracking, this convenient application is a great deal for your I-Phone or I-Pod (whats the diff anyways).
