Honda Fit sales rose a drastic 78.5% to 12,266 sold. It’s known as the little Honda that can. The Fit provides an astounding 14.2 cubic feet of storage space. Compared to its 2008 model, the 2009 Honda Fit packs a larger cabin and improved handling. The ’09 model is dressed in a sportier body and has the sharper edges the ’08 so dearly needed. The windshield was positioned nearly 5 inches closer to the front of the car, contributing to the roominess of the Fit. The 1.5L 4-cylinder iVTEC engine boasts 118 horsepower, 11 more than the Chevy Aveo. The 0 to 60 in 8.9 is a moderate measure for this spacious gas-friendly vehicle. Road tests show that the 2009 Fit can achieve upwards of 38 miles per gallon during mostly highway travel. Overall, the Honda Fit is being improved in nearly every aspect and remains very affordable (around $14,000) and extremely fuel efficient (27/33 mpg). It’s no wonder sales of the Fit have soared so high.

The Honda Civic Hybrid saw sales rise an impressive 27.4% to 3,440.. Having lived in the shadow of the Toyota Prius, the Civic Hybrid adds a great dimension to Honda’s best-selling vehicle. Starting just above $22,000, the Civic Hybrid provides an economical 40/44 miles per gallon. Its styling as more sporty and traditional than that of the Toyota Prius. Compared to the Accord Hybrid and Accord base model, the Civic Hybrid does a much better job of offering a much diffent package than the base model Civic. Forbes describes the Civic Hybrid as such: “The Honda Civic Hybrid is one of the best hybrids available, with an affordable price, excellent driving dynamics, and fuel economy matched by few other models.”

Accord sales rose by 2.8% to 41,382. Honda’s famed mid-size family sedan can be considered large with its spacious interior and long bode. The redesigned Accord for 2008 incorporates bolder styling to rival the Toyota Camry’s fun styling. Critics acknowledge that the old generation f the Accord (2003-2007) was too conservative and looked infinitely boring when parked next to an equivalent Camry. Seems as if the buyers like the new design.

Honda’s luxury brand, Acura, sold 12,828 vehicles, down 17.7%. The America Acura TSX (European Honda Accord) continued to post strong sales, rising by 15.9% to 3,474.
