Our Project Evo build up has been going on for a bit now and we’re ready to review where we are. In terms of suspension, you can readily see the awesome stance of the car. Even though it’s sitting pretty and low to the ground, there is plenty of ground clearance. We’re still looking for some additional bracing options. So we’ll look into products from Cusco and Tanabe to see what will fit the bill. Here’s what’s been done thus far on the handling end of things:
- Zeal Function Xs coilovers, 8kg front / 7kg rear with custom valving
- WORKS rear sway bar, 24mm
- WORKS front strut tower bar
- WORKS rear strut tower bar
- WORKS rear drop bar
- RS trunk bar
On the footwork end of things:
- Endless 6-piston front brake system, 2-piece slotted rotors, CC-X pads
- Endless Racing 4-piston rear brake system, 2-piece slotted rotors, CC-X pads
- Endless S-Four brake fluid
- AME Circlar Spec R wheels, 18×9, +35 offset
- Dunlop Direzza DZ101 tires, 245/40-18
The wheel / tire combination will soon be replaced by:
- Volk Racing CE28N wheels, 18×9. +35 offset
- Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires, 255/35-18
- Ray’s aluminum lug nuts
Now, some of you might be asking why we stuck with the conservative +35 offset. Truth be told, with the 255 width tires mounted to the forged Volk rims, an aggressive offset will require rolling and / or cutting the fenders. This isn’t something we want to do. Being able to run 255’s without modifying body panels is the name of the game.
Under the hood, things get more exciting:
- HKS Racing Suction Reloaded intake kit
- HKS Super SQV II blow off valve with piping kit
- HKS Ti-Carbon catback exhaust system
- Denso Iridium spark plugs
Yes, minor bolt ons thus far, but we know it’s making more power. In the near future, we will be adding:
- HKS EVC VI boost controller
- HKS downpipe + 02 housing
- HKS DLI II ignition
- Magnus Motorsports cast intake manifold
- Magnus Motorsports fuel rail
- WORKS Aperture throttle body
- WORKS high flow catalytic converter
- WORKS custom ECU reflash
These simple additions will generate close to 340hp at the wheels. Awfully exciting stuff. And going forward, we’re looking to add:
- Garrett GT30R or HKS GT3071 turbo kit
- HKS or Cosworth MIVEC cams
- HKS F-Con V-Pro stand alone ECU with custom tuning
- HKS A/F Knock Amp
- HKS injectors
- HKS fuel pump
- And more…
So keep tuned to the WebRidesTV.com blog as we make more progress going forward.
