I’ll admit that I’ve been pulled over a couple times and I’ve also had a couple parking tickets, but my record is heavenly in comparison to a Brazilian speedster who’s garnered a whopping $1.9M in traffic fines. For that amount of money you could buy a Bugatti Veyron and have enough money leftover to buy an Aston Martin DBS and a Ferrari F430.

Armando Clemente da Silva is the man in question. Over the past 7 years, Armando has been caught speeding and running red lights almost 1000 times. The interesting dimension of this story comes from the fact that Armando never found the time to register his car, so he was never mailed a citation notice. It’s ironic that he wasn’t even caught speeding when this story broke out. A Sao Paolo police officer signaled for Armando to pull over for a simple, routine document check.
His $6,500 car was impounded and will be auctioned off (unless he can foot the bill in 90 days). This story makes high gas prices seem like an afterthought.
