It’s Wednesday and raining in So Cal and if you are like me (with nothing better to do) and want to see some badass pickup trucks get thrashed around I highly suggest you watch the rest of the Dodge Ram Challenge. I watched the second half recently and enjoyed it as much if not more than the first half.

If any of you read my review of the first two episodes of this four part mini series you already know the setup of the Ram Challenge. For those of you that don’t, or are too lazy to read the first part, here goes…There were four teams of two men, each representing a typical ‘Merican type of work (cowboy, fireman, military and contractor) and compete in 4 total single elimination races with the winning team taking home new 09 Dodge Rams.

With the first two races done and the two remaining teams left, the production team really upped the ante for race three. This was a much longer race and the two remaining teams weren’t racing to build bridges or tow trailers but were flying through a course laden with roads of fire and 100 mph sandstorms that brought visibility down to nothing. Also in the mix was a twisting and narrow romp through the forest that gave one team an edge over the other as well as a steep and rocky hill decent. The final leg of race three was my favorite as it was back to the gauntlet of swinging cars to avoid before coming to the finish line. Something I found very interesting was that the truck of one team was actually struck by one of the swinging cars and damaged the truck noticeably however it was still able to finish the race.

With the losing team eliminated, the members of the winning team were ecstatic only to realize that instead of winning a pair of trucks, they had to compete against each other in the final race. The next day the two members of the final team met to go head to head in race four, also known as KaBoom Town. The beginning of this race pitted the drivers and their trucks in a newly constructed ghost town in which they had to navigate. But there was a catch: hidden in the town were several packs of explosives that were detonated as the trucks passed causing the drivers to, and I quote: “nearly pee [themselves]“. After getting through that it was a flat out race through rocky rivers and mountainous terrain in which the final obstacle was a 1000 ft hill climb on the ridge of a huge hill with nothing on each side but sheer drop. With the winner coming in ahead of his teammate and winning the Ram Challenge, the competiton draws to a close and that lucky man gets a brand new 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. Make sure to watch all the way through though, as there is a badass consolation prize for the winner’s fallen teammate.
