Hyundai announced today the completion of a newly designed 6 speed automatic transmission; aimed at increasing fuel economy by 12.2 percent and simultaneously lowering emissions. Weighing 12kg lighter than the 5 speed predecessor and boasting a pretty impressive spec sheet, one has to wonder if it will eventually migrate from the Azera to the Genesis in upcoming model years. Hyundai seems to be on the right track these days, ensuring its success through the current financial crisis.
