With so much going on in the financial world as of late, many people with middle to lower class income levels are feeling the strain of layoffs and other income inhibitors that can be attributed to the slumping economy. In order to help some of these people, Hyundai has come out with a new program called Hyundai Assurance to take some pressure of those with disappearing income. Hit the jump to read more.

Hyundai has been in the news quite a bit recently what with the introduction of the new Genesis that will be available in both sedan and coupe variations. However, what Hyundai has recently announced will surely please those hit the hardest by the recent downturn in the economy. It is called Hyundai Assurance and works by allowing someone who recently purchased a Hyundai vehicle to return it to the dealer free of charge if for some reason owner’s income were to suddenly decrease to the point that he or she would not be able to cover the payments within the first 12 months of ownership. The return of the car would not count as a default on a loan and would not hurt the person’s credit with negative equity. The program covers people in case of such events as: loss of job (layoffs), physical/medical disability, self employed bankruptcy and international job transfer.
