Mazda has just announced that the new Mazda 3 will in fact have start-stop technology in an effort to conserve gasonline and raise the MPG of the Mazda 3. This technology will allegedly go into both the 1.6 liter engine and the 2.0 liter engine. What is start-stop technology? More on it, after the jump
Start stop technology is a pretty simple concept. The engine basically stops while you are sitting at a red light, or waiting in grid locked traffic, and then starts up again after you release your foot from the brake pedal. It is projected that all cars will have this technology by 2015. This makes me personally kind weary; what if my starter goes out on my car? Will it roll backwards, or just be stuck dead on the road? Imagine that though, 2015 Vipers, Mustangs and Porsche’s, all having this kind of tech in them… hmmm
Only time will tell on this one.

It looks like its smiling really wide….
