Greetings all, Big_Blocker here with some beastly news in the world of big rigs. As of yesterday, Volvo has announced the release of the most powerful production semi truck in the world, the FH16. This thing is truly a monster making more power than any other truck in the world and burning cleaner while doing it!

The older model FH16 was powerful in its own right as it made 660 horsepower. However, for 2009, Volvo engineers pulled out all the stops and made 40 more horses and lowered emissions across the board. With European emissions laws becoming ever more stringent, the FH16 cuts emission of nitrogen oxide by the mandatory 40% while delivering more power and gas mileage equal to past models. The most powerful of the engines offered makes 700 horsepower and a staggering 2323 pound feet of torque! This is one serious monster as the 16 L straight-six diesel powerplant with its massive turbo haul loads and ass down the highway.

Although known better for their edgy passenger car design, Volvo has been making heavy duty trucks for over 40 years and has a pretty stalwart reputation in the industry. Volvo is also doing a pretty good job marketing the FH16 with an interactive game and video featured on the Volvo site. Well, if I had the need/cash for a big rig, I would give the FH16 some serious consideration. Big_Blocker out.
