Howdy Webriders! Dr. VW here with a follow up to yesterday’s Superbowl predictions. Unfortunately, the Cardinals lost. It was a nail biter for sure, with the last quarter ending up in a brilliant display by both teams.  But that’s neither here nor there. You may remember from last time my three Superbowl commercial predictions- well I missed out completely on the last two, but scored big time on my first prediction. So yeah. I called it. I’m good. Actually not really; I predicted a single, serious commercial about the Genesis. Instead, we got one serious one, one comical one, and a heart pumping adrenaline fueled introduction to the 2010 Genesis Coupe. An excellent threefer!

First up was the serious commercial, touting the recent “Car of the Year” award given to the Genesis sedan, with a brief teaser shot of the coupe towards the end. Check it:

Second up was the excellently done adrenaline/crank fest that was the Genesis Coupe commercial. Although I wouldn’t have chosen yellow as the color, the Genesis whipped around the turns at lightning speeds and clearly aimed to prove its sports car potential. All in all– I think the Stig would give his speedy left… well you know… to get behind the wheel of this rocket.

Finally came the comical commercial I thought for sure wouldn’t materialize. However rather than take a purely comedic approach, they also threw down the proverbial glove at competitors, calling out Lexus, BMW, and other luxury makes. The fight is on.

Sit back and enjoy ladies and gents! Looks like Hyundai is pushing the Genesis full throttle. Only time will tell if it’s a huge success or an epic flunk; but my bet is on the former. Dr. VW-out.
