Audi Q3 in Spain

Declining sales of big SUV’s like Audi’s Q7 must have led to smaller “crossover” SUVs like Audi’s Q5. But it looks like they might go even smaller. Audi has just lifted the cover on the Q3 Crossover and promised to start selling it in Spain for the model year 2011. Production is planned in conjunction with the Spanish automaker SEAT (owned by VW), an estimated 80,000 to 100,000 units will be built per anum at their factory in Spain. More Audi Q3 when you jump.

Audi Q3

The Q3 is set to ship with 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder diesel engine good for 204 horsepower and a boatload of torque. Alternatively, buyers can opt for a more traditional turbocharged inline four gasoline engine. If this sounds like another small crossover SUV with a turbocharged four under the hood, you’re probably thinking of the Acura RDX. We’re sure Audi was.

To make sure the Q3 is just another run of the mill small, kinda luxurious trucklette, Audi’s giving the n00b some top shelf features. Like carbon ceramic binders that are normally reserved for the R8’s and an adjustable sport suspension copied from some of the RS models. Nice. I’d still rather have a full sized Q7, but the Q3 doesn’t look like a terrible choice for someone that doesn’t need to haul their home around with them living in a very packed metropolitan area. Is the Q3 coming Stateside? Magic 8-ball says: dunno.
