Of all the Bangled BMWs, the very worst looking (besides the X3) is the 6-Series. The design never worked and always looked like a porpoise. Until the porpoise-looking Audi R8 came out and the 6-Series was left to look like a fat porpoise. Whatever sea creature it resembled, there’s no denying that the near perfect BMW purity found in cars like the above 635 CSI (or better yet, the 3.0 coupe) were totally absent. But according to some renderings cooked up by the kids over at BMW Blog, the 6-Series might have a shot at aesthetic redemption come 2011. As you might have guessed, I’m especially pleased with the nose. Renderings below the jump. [Source: BMW Blog]

Hmmm, yes, well… I like the nose quite a bit. Especially the forward rake. The hood’s even kinda alright, too. As are the brake cooling scoops and the headlights. From the front fender back the rendered car completely loses any trace of elegance. It’s just a series of slashes and tortured kinks.

And the rear is about as bad as the side profile. Hate the pipes, the small tail lights male the ass look massive, the roof looks pinched, etc. But that nose… I really love that nose.

Overbite for the win.
It looks like a Goblin Shark…
either way, none of the above have the classy appeal of the Rex Threat mobile.
It looks like a Camaro and a Z8 had a baby.
