Lambo Super Trofeo

If I was going to enter a one-make series, I’d totally enter Lamborghini’s Super Trofeo races. How come? Many, many reasons. One of course, is the car itself. Based on one of the most impressive vehicles (the LP560-4) I’ve ever had the pleasure of flinging around a canyon, the lightened (2,866 lbs. with cage), more powerful (570 hp vs. 552 hp) Gallardo Super Trofeo has to be utterly sinful. Like butter on chocolate. Another reason would be the guys signing up to race. Usually one-make series attract “gentleman racer” types. You know, maxillofacial surgeons and corporate accountant types scooting around the track in their 911 GT3 RSR or Ferrari F40 Scuderia. Can you imagine the type of porterhouse and French fries maniac that would want to race Lamborghinis? I’m imagining Texas ranchers, strip club chain owners, obscure European royalty, pro wrestlers and pro gamblers all screaming around some track trying to pummel each other to pieces with their V10-powered, AWD monsters. Sounds fun, no? Video of the Super Trofeo passing every other car at Monza after the jump. [Source: YouTube]
