Ferrari’s latest charity auction will be a first on two fronts for the Italian sportscar maker. This isn’t the first time they’ve auctioned off a car for charity, but it’s the first time that they have conducted an auction using an online format and it’s the first time that a company car will be sold off. Bidders will have a chance to own a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano that is owned by Luca di Montezemolo, the Chairman of Ferrari. He’s not just selling his name with the car — he really owns it. And as it currently has just 3,589 miles on it. Jump for the full stats.

It has a red Rosso Monza paint job with optional carbon ceramic brakes, the F1 gearbox, 20-inch wheels with runflats, charcoal leather interior, carbon fiber interior accents, LED engine RPM display on steering wheel, and a navigation system. The one thing that will really set this thing apart from other Ferraris is an engraved certificate of authenticity that has the signature of Luca di Montezemolo engraved on it. The future owner will also be treated to an event where the car is transferred in Maranello, home of Ferrari.
Proceeds from this auction will be used to sponsor “young researchers working on projects dedicated to technological innovation”. So this is the ultimate used car: low mileage, respectable prior owner, and the money will be going towards a good cause. Make sure to check out the official Ferrari page for the auction. Maybe the owner will get to get a peak of the new F430 successor around the Fiorano Circuit! Wishful thinking.
