Yes, it's fast.

This year’s running of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb churned out some seriously sexy videos. There was Gronholm’s attack in his 800 horse Ford Fiesta, and now Red Bull has delivered us this piece of work detailing Rhys Millen’s record-smashing 2 wheel-drive effort. Word is Millen crossed the checkers with his rear tires showing cords [Ed: Thanks, Grammar and Usage Police], but his 12:09.397 run guaranteed the guy’s place in the history books. Hop the jump to have a look at the builder/racer doing what he does best in his trick Hyundai Genesis Coupe. If it doesn’t make you want to hop in your own cockpit and hit it, you might want to check your vitals. [Source: AutoBlog]

  1. Okay… that’s it, the final straw. I’m getting one of these suckers. I really wanted a used M3, but this thing has loads of potential at a fraction of the ongoing fee. And it’s TONS of fun to drive the stock one even. Gimme!

  2. “Word is Millen crossed the checkers with his rear tires showing chords…”

Really? What chords were those? Was it a c-chord because I hear that’s popular when you’re writing a power ballad.

Or maybe you meant “cords.” As GOB Bluth would say, “Come On!”

  3. @RogueS4 — I’m driving the 3.8 V6 Genesis Sedan this week, and I’ve got to say the thing’s quicker than I would have given it credit for otherwise. Smooth power and lots of it, especially at above 3500 rpm. Hyundai’s got a winner with the car.
