Hennessey Perfomance Venom GT

Autoblog has managed to lay its hands on the first ever shots of Hennessey Performance’s newest project – the Venom GT. The car is supposedly based on the Lotus Elise, though instead of a polite, Toyota-sourced four-cylinder, the company has decided to get the car’s power from a much deeper well – the General Motors LS9. The company says the mildly-tweaked motor will dump between 650 and 700 horsepower on the rear wheels in its first form. The best part? This sucker will weigh just 2,400 lbs. Later, Hennessey says it’ll scrap the supercharger in favor of two turbos good for over 1,000 horsepower. Yes, please. [Source: Autoblog]
