So i just got back from the time of my life at Jim Hall Kart Racing School. Last Sunday some friends and I headed up the coast to attend one of the most exhilirating events i’ve ever taken part in. This isn’t your average 2 mile an hour go kart track, this is the real deal, or at least where the future F1 drivers go to work there way up the chain.
After the quick and scenic trip up the coast their track, located just off the 101 in Oxnard, we got out and stretched our legs for what was to become an epic day. When we arrived, we were greeted by the staff who were prepping the karts for the day. They cleaned the engines, changed tires and did a safety check on each kart before we started. Since, i had never been in a kart that went over 20 mph before, i was a little nervous, but after chatting with one of the 12 year olds that had been to the kart multiple times, my nerves were settled, as it became clear that these karts were one of the safest motor sports around. Hope everyone’s weekend went well, this is Big_Blocker here for a little bit of a movie review. This will act as a follow up for all of you that read the recent blog Dr. VW wrote a week or two ago that hyped the movie. So I recently saw Death Race and I must say that it impressed me because going into it I was a bit skeptical, however after the movie was over I had a pretty big smile on my face. Not only were the action scenes incredibly entertaining and gory, the cars themselves were straight from Twisted Metal (if anyone ever dabbled in that ever so sweet game). Joe Dono is an asshole. I am usually not one to bring up derogatory terms in a blogpost but Joe Dono has basically filled every requirement I set forth to be called one. Joe is a member of the Tampa Racing forums and also into having his Celica tuned. Joe, obviously lacking any skill or mental capacity of his own, decided to contract a local shop to do extensive work on his car initially giving them only money for supplies with promise of more money later on. After 4.5 months the shopped completely repainted his car, did custom sub enclosures, ecu installations and a slew of other things only to have Joe attempt to take his car back without paying……..
