Like it or not, ‘tis the season for holiday cheer. And while that usually means braving a minefield of family-oriented events, it’s also a great excuse to get out there and do something for the less fortunate out there. If you happen to be in the L.A. area, that means you can take your ride and a new, unwrapped toy worth around $10 bucks to the sixth-annual Motor4Toys Charity Car Show. Happen to be a hoon of the two-wheeled variety? Don’t worry, bikes are absolutely welcome. The show kicks off December 6th at the Anthem Building in Warner Center. When it comes to wringing the absolute most out Mercedes-Benz products, Vath is the go-to tuner. The company recently turned its wrenches on the ML 63 AMG – upping the power and throwing in a mean appearance, too. Massive intake and exhaust valves, meatier cam, throaty exhaust and reprogrammed ECU all work together to produce 585 horsepower. Vath’s creation includes a brake system with eight-piston calipers and a custom air-ride suspension, while 22-inch rollers and a unique spoiler add in some style. The great thing about time is that it never stops moving. Few automakers know that quite as well as Mercedes-Benz – a company that has seen the automotive world evolve for 75 years. To celebrate that momentous anniversary the company rustled up three generations of race car haulers and put them on display. While the original 1936 Lo 2750 is cool as can be, the 1955 Blue Wonder has to be the ultimate track hauler. I have a confession to make: I love the C30. There’s just something about that curvy little three door that pushes all the right buttons for me. Looks like the boys and girls at Heico Sportiv have taken a shine to Volvo’s hatch. The tuner decided to rework the greenest of all C30s – the 1.6 DRIVe – to increase power and maintain efficiency. A full aero kit is part of the package, as is a nudge in grunt up to 125 horsepower. That extra power helps this C30 get to 60 mph 2.1 seconds quicker than the factory version, though at 9.1 seconds, that’s not exactly something to brag about. Check out the gallery for more shots. I have a very, very low tolerance for pointless modification. I understand beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but taking what was once one of the most lethal sports cars on the planet and attempting to modify it to look more like a Lamborghini just reeks of a lack of class. Evidently there are enough people out there who disagree with me for Top Racing HK to produce a Lamborghini door kit for the Nissan GT-R. Wonders never cease. Diesel power, baby! We knew it wouldn’t be long before the enterprising souls of the tuning world turned their affections toward Volkswagen’s new Golf GTD. ABT has taken the first shot, wringing a full 190 horsepower and 287 lb-ft of torque out of the little oil burner. We’ll just let that soak in for a second. Aside from the ridiculous power numbers, there’s also one slick body kit, uber huge 19-inch wheels and an aggressive suspension. If that’s not hot, we simply can’t help you. Looking to give your Bentley a little more mean in the looks department? Vorsteiner has you covered. The company just released a few photos of its newest aero upgrades for the Continental GT, and the kit includes a front and rear fascia. While not as over the top as some creations we’ve seen in the past, the slightly revised front valance gives the already insanely fast car something of an extra edge aesthetically. Very nice. I’m a sucker for a decent set of hips, and few manufacturers can pull off a set quite like Porsche. Behold, the 997 GT3 R – an FIA-spec factory racer straight from Stuttgart. Like the GT3 Cup unveiled earlier this year, the R boasts a 480 horsepower engine, a tiny curb weight of 2,645 lbs and a six-speed sequential gearbox. There’s some trick new tech onboard the R, though, including a very Nissan-esque e-gas feature that blips the throttle on each downshift. Chrysler says it will be a full two years before we see any Fiat products in the land of the free. That’s a damn shame, especially because I’ve been jonsing for a shot behind the wheel of the wicked little Fiat 500 since rumors of the Italian take over emerged way back in aught-eight.
