Rally xD

The boys and girls over at 0-60 have worked up a wild Scion xD for this year’s SEMA show. Designed to handle serious rally duty, the car features a full roll cage, more lights than lunar park and six point harnesses. The crew also swapped the hood and rear hatch for carbon fiber versions and dropped a Greddy exhaust on the car to free up a little horsepower. Sure, it looks cool, but what are the odds of anyone putting an xD through its paces on the dirty? Check out the gallery for more goodness. [Source: ZerCustoms]

Toyota F1

That’s it, kids. There are officially no more Japanese F1 teams on the grid for next year. Toyota made a tearful announcement this morning, saying the company could no longer sally forth in one of the world’s most expensive forms of motorsport. The company had dropped a staggering $2.4 billion dollars trying to capture a championship win and never succeeded. Word is the grid won’t be down one team next year, though. Toyota’s absence means there’s a chance Sauber could step back into the ring. Next year’s season should make for one helluva show, that’s for sure. [Source: Autonews]

BMW M3 GT

If you’ve been eying spy shots from the ‘Ring, odds are you’ve laid eyes on this particular beastie. Rumors dusting up from the Bimmer-centric out there have called the thing a CSL successor, but that’s turned out to be wrong. Evidently, the serious M3 is a street-going version of the GT4 racer that’s been putting a hurt on the competition all over the world. The specs are tasty – 400 horsepower from a naturally aspirated V8, 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, six-pot Brembo stoppers and a weight savings of 220 lbs over the stock M3. Sounds good to us. The only downside is the car probably won’t show up in the states. [Source: BimmerFile]

2010 Ford Mustang GT

Alright, so the Ford Mustang may not be the first choice of chariots when it comes time to saddle up to take on some rally action, but that hasn’t stopped two hoons from throwing down the muscle car gauntlet. Evidently there’s been some dispute as to who’s fastest behind the wheel of a dirt-prepped Pony – Mike Hurst or Mark Utecht. To settle the dispute, the ’10 Unleashed campaign gave each guy an identical Mustang to have at four stages in the Ojibwe Forest Rally in Minnesota. Who’s quickest? Who cares? Watching the 2010 Ford Mustang GT tear it up through the woods would make them Duke boys proud. Check it out after the jump. [Source: Ford]

STI Trax

Master hoon Ken Block is back at it with his STI. This time he’s set a goal of having the fastest snow cat in the world, and has bolted a set of Trax runners to his already awesome Subaru. Hilarity ensues, including a few killer shots of Block tear-assing around the slopes in what could possibly be the world’s first Subaru tank. We want one. No, scratch that. We want two so we can race around when the going gets snowy. Hop the jump for a look-see at the action. [Source: YouTube]

2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor

The day has finally arrived, kids. Ford is showing off its more potent F-150 SVT Raptor at SEMA, complete with a 6.2-liter V8 packing a whopping 411 horsepower. Torque numbers are even more impressive with 434 lb-ft on tap. So what’s all that extra grunt good for? Ford says the beefier Raptor can click off 0-60 second runs a full 1.5-seconds faster than the 5.4-liter V8 powered beast. That’s nothing to sneeze at – nor is the big boy’s MSRP – the 6.4-liter will cost you an extra $3,000 over the stock truck. The final price tag is a lofty $41,995. [Source: Ford]

Mazda

Nothing fights a case of the Mondays like a three-rotor FC RX7 doing a full-out dyno pull. According to the hoons at ColdTrackDays, the car in the video after the jump is a NASA-spec car tuned by Nelson for a blistering 543 horsepower at almost 16 psi. Hop the jump, put on your headphones, turn up the volume, and forget about those TPS reports for two minutes and five seconds. [Source: ColdTrackDays]

Petty's Garage Challenger 4

It looks like good ol’ Richard Petty is getting into the tuning game. The King’s first crack at a unique auto is a tweaked Dodge Challenger dipped in – what else? – Petty Blue. Behind that vintage-style air dam is a 585 horsepower 426 ci HEMI V8. Other changes include a set of Brembo Gran Turismo Stoppers, reworked suspension and easy-breathing exhaust. The car’s headed to SEMA to build a little buzz, then is off to Barrett-Jackson to be auctioned off for charity. Check out the gallery for a closer inspection. Our favorite part? The old-school Dodge badge in the grille. Hotness. [Source: WCF]
