We had a nice chat with Jack Stavana, Director of Accessory Operations at Mazda, about what’s new for the new year. Lots of Mazdaspeed branded parts are coming, including a big brake kit for the MX-5 Miata. Although it suffered its share of a stigma as a “chick’s car,” this platform is becoming more of a choice for autocrossers and road racers alike.

We also chatted about the current push to make things as “green” as possible. Although many of us here at WebRidesTV are petrol heads through and through, the environment is an important issue to everyone on planet Earth. The Wankel rotary engine design is well suited for hydrogen power and Jack alluded to internal efforts to push this form of alternative fuel source to come.
