Alright, more breaking news from the North American International Auto Show, this time from Ford Motor Company. Well, actually it isn’t from Ford itself, but rather their sub-division Lincoln. The flashy new Lincoln C concept has just debuted at the NAIAS and features several technological innovations sure to please many people. Hit it to read more.

The Lincoln C represents the future for the brand and exudes futuristic exterior designs as well as state-of-the-art tecnological advances on the inside. Ford/Lincoln engineers hope to further connect driver’s with their automobiles in an attempt to form a sort of friendship on and off the road. Dubbed the Human Machine Interface (HMI), the car works to alert the driver of all things pertinent to driving, everything from road conditions to passenger comfort, all while maintaing adequate focus and saftey. Automobile related informations lies on the left side of the gauge cluster while such amenities as audio, climate and navigation are on the right side. If the driver wishes to stay focused on driving there are both steering wheel controls as well as voice-activated command sequences available. This voice command system, known as SYNC, features an avatar code named ‘EVA’ that responds much like a person would in conversation and eliminates the need for learned voice commands. The voice system even allows the driver to surf the internet all by voice to check traffic conditions as well as weather, pretty interesting stuff if you as me. Volvo lovers will be sure to dig the unveiling of the S60 concept sedan at the Detroit Motor Show today, January 11, 2009. The concept features modern styling accents that will hopefully make their way into the restyling of the production model S60.

The new sedan was crafted with advanced and edgy interior and exterior styling that has stirred up some good reviews in the automotive world. As the current S60 is widely critisized for its lackluster performance and appearance, the new model is Volvo’s attempt to shake that. Volvo President and CEO  Stephen Odell hopes the new styling will increase Volvo’s “potential to establish credentials in the premium sedan segment” and that Volvo is a “real player to be considered” in that segment. By focusing on ‘Model Scandenavian Design’, Volvo engineers crafted the S60 in hopes that the car would create waves in a seemingly stagnant global car buying pool that has most automakers scrambling to attract people into showrooms. Look for the aggressive styling combined with trademark Volvo safety such as the new Pedestrian Detection System that locates pedestrians and alerts the driver. Happy Friday everyone, Big_Blocker here with some news by way of a new vehicle from General Motors, the 2010 Buick LaCrosse. Set to be unveiled to the public on January 11th at the North American International Auto Show, the LaCrosse is the next step in the revitalization of GM’s so-called “Grandpa Division”.

Buick hopes that the initial success of the newly redesigned Enclave will carry over to new models as the LaCrosse as the division seeks to “attract a whole new buyer” to Buick dealer showrooms. According to Ed Welburn, VP of GM Global Design, “The new LaCrosse is intended to represent modern elegance…Throughout the design, you experience a balance of contrasts. Both the interior and exterior have been designed with harmony in mind. The exterior balances taut, sculpted lines with sensuous accents and surfaces. Inside, smoked chrome accents, warm wood, first-class leather and materials combine with cool blue ambient lighting to create an inviting environment.”

Buick drew exterior styling from the Invicta concept that first appeared at the 2008 Beijing Auto Show. Interior amenities come in the form of Bluetooth connectivity, optional DVD entertainment and OnStar capability.
